Mission

At Prose For Patients, our mission is simple yet profound: to use the power of words to heal, connect, and uplift. We believe that stories are more than just narratives — they are bridges that bring comfort to patients, meaning to volunteers, and empathy to all who read them.

"Stories are more than just words — they are bridges of empathy."

Vision

We envision a world where the patient experience is not defined only by treatments and procedures, but also by the humanity shared in small moments of storytelling. By encouraging volunteers to reflect through poetry and prose, and by publishing these works, we create a living archive of resilience and compassion.

At the same time, we believe these stories should come from every corner of care—not just patients, but physicians, family members, and often overlooked voices such as social workers, chaplains, technicians, and support staff. Through one-on-one conversations, we listen to these experiences and translate them into written narratives, often paired with a creative piece. In doing so, we create space for voices that are rarely heard, capturing both the realities and the emotions of care that clinical settings often leave unspoken.
